Belle and Carrie

Belle Stowell came to Grand Lake in 1906 as a school teacher and married Ezra Kauffman. Her sister Carrie also came to Grand Lake with her husband Will Schuster and two children and homesteaded in the valley south of Grand Lake. After Will died Carrie married Henry Schnoor. She was county superintendent of schools for many years.
